Communication strategist
As a graduation project for the Communication Multimedia Design study, I collaborated with Welcome App. Welcome app offers activities to help newcomers integrate into the Netherlands and feel more at home. However, many users face a barrier to participating in these activities. To address this issue, I conducted research and a communication strategy to find a solution, resulting in the "Same Seed, Different Soil" campaign with the slogan "Plant new connections to grow a new foundation in the Netherlands."
The campaign aims to make the target audience realize that attending these activities can lead to forming a social circle, networking for employment, and learning the language, which are crucial for successful integration.
It is a cross-media campaign, ensuring the same message is conveyed through various channels. Flyers with general campaign information, including a QR code directing users to the campaign website, are distributed in multiple languages at reception centers. Additionally, the target audience receives pop-up notifications in the Welcome app, guiding them to other media channels.
The campaign involves a Instagram account where short texts and images are posted in five different categories every four days. These categories include tips, activity details, success stories, photos with locals, and event information. Users can find more detailed content on the website through links provided in the profile descriptions.
The website also allows newcomers to submit their own experiences, which can be used as new content on various media channels. Moreover, the campaign organizes events that bring people together to listen to inspiring speakers, engage in games, seek information at booths, and enjoy refreshments.
In conclusion, the "Same Seed, Different Soil" campaign aims to motivate and inspire newcomers to participate in activities, facilitating their integration and sense of belonging in the Netherlands.
