Steffie's Community

During my studies in Communication Multimedia Design, my team and I developed a social media communication plan for Steffie Hooijman. Three years ago, Steffie suffered a stroke, resulting in severe physical injuries. She has difficulty with fine motor skills and coordination, is wheelchair-bound, and cannot speak or swallow. However, she has no cognitive impairments. She uses a speech computer for communication, which can still be challenging at times.

 

Due to her physical limitations, Steffie struggles with communication and finding joy and meaning in life. She asked us to develop something that would help her communicate more easily and/or derive more enjoyment from life. Our social media communication plan provides guidelines for building and maintaining her social media channels. By creating an online community, we hope Steffie can make her voice heard again and find a group of like-minded individuals, helping her and others feel less isolated and more understood.
