Op Straat

Script and scenario writing

At the Dutch Filmers Academy, I attended the Scenario course, where I further developed my passion for writing stories. I had the opportunity to write my own script, creating the captivating story "OP STRAAT". In this tale, we follow the journey of Noah and Hidde, two homeless youths who meet on the streets. They become friends and share various adventures, from sneakily stealing beer to enjoying the sun together. However, when Noah loses her precious necklace, she accuses Hidde, leading to a heated argument. After some time apart, they eventually find each other again at their favorite spot by the canal and reconcile. The story concludes on a hopeful note of forgiveness.

The series "Euphoria" served as a source of inspiration for my writing. Its raw storytelling style and complex characters motivated me to present my own stories in an expressive manner. Moreover, I learned about character development during the course, allowing me to create believable and engaging characters that resonate with the audience.

Throughout my studies, I also gained insights into analyzing film and series scenarios. By studying successful works, I developed a deeper understanding of the structure and construction of strong narratives. These analytical skills have improved my writing process and enabled me to critically evaluate my own work.

In summary, the Scenario course at the Dutch Filmers Academy ignited my passion for storytelling and strengthened my skills as a screenwriter. Through writing my own script, drawing inspiration from "Euphoria," and learning about character development and scenario analysis, I have grown as a storyteller and look forward to crafting even more compelling tales in the future.
